On April 3, 1987, the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma adopted an agreement with Sac and Fox Tribe of Oklahoma, to designate the Court of the Sac and Fox Tribe of Oklahoma, as the Court for the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma.
On July 1, 1991, the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma administered their own Judicial system at the Kickapoo Tribal Complex.
In transferring the cases from Sac and Fox Tribe of Oklahoma to the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma, the following information is a list of the types of cases represented:
North of the Canadian River
South of the Deep Fork River
East of Indian Meridian Road
West of Kickapoo Street, Shawnee, OK
The Court shall have Personal & Subject Matter over the following individuals:
Members of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma
Persons that are enrolled members of a federally recognized Tribe that reside in the jurisdiction of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma
Non-Indian or Non-Tribal members that are named as a defendant in a case, who consent to the jurisdiction of the Court.
Make a money order or cashier’s check payable to Kickapoo Tribal Court. NO CASH or PERSONAL CHECKS will be accepted
Eligibility Requirements: Must be Native American who is an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe, who meets the income guidelines.
